This Year's MINI Countryman Received IIHS Top Safety Pick Award
This year’s Countryman from MINI has got an IIHS Top Safety Pick award. Though, its headlights made it to skip the coveted Top Safety Pick+ distinction.
The innovated this year’s MINI Countryman missed out on the Top Safety Pick+ award because its available headlamps were acknowledged to be poor and marginal. A car must have acceptable or good headlamps in order to get the award in 2017.
Meanwhile the compact offering got good crashworthiness ratings across the board and the optional front crash prevention set-up got an advanced rating.
The set-up mitigated a collision in IIHS crash tests at 12 and 25 mph and reduced the impact speed by 7 mph in the tests.
This year’s MINI Countryman can be obtained in Cooper S, Cooper, Cooper S ALL 4, Cooper ALL 4 and Cooper S E All 4 plug-in hybrid electric and john Cooper Works performance versions. The innovated offering was launched on the market this March.
