MINI Superleggera Official Photos Give Hint at Production Decisions
MINI directors might accept manufacturing a real wideworld variant of the Superleggera concept vehicle.
Patent drawings showed what a production variant of the concept model will look like. It was first shown at the Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance sometime earlier. If it will be built, therefore it will be a replacement in the company’s range to the recalled Roadster. It will become a top car for the company and a competitor to the future Mazda MX-5.
The vehicle probably will remain similar to the concept preview in style. It might gain minimal modifications, such as different headlamps, bigger mirrors and framed windshield.
The production version is not expected to use the same electric engine as the concept variant. It will get power from the V3 or V4 of the same range as all the other circulating MINI versions. There might be a topping John Cooper Works variant which will be able to produce 228 hp and torque of 236 lb-ft, just like the innovated JCW offering, announced by the automaker not long ago.
