MINI Coupe, Roadster Removed?
MINI has planned huge transformations for its lineup, and the current Coupe and Roadster aren’t a part of the whole picture.
The British company is going to construct 18 models based on its 2 new architectures within the next 5 years, with a fresh sports vehicle to succeed the current Coupe and Roadster. Though the car will share MINI’s fresh front-wheel-drive architecture, the new sports model will look totally different than what’s currently provided in the Coupe and Roadster.
The shceduled model will be provided in both hard- and soft-top versions in Cooper S and John Cooper Works (JCW) form when it’s unleashed in late 2015 or early 2016. Both the Coupe and Roadster have been struggling in the deliveries department, not even selling 15,000 vehicles a year. Some time ago, MINI uncovered its Vision concept which hints at what we can expect in its fresh sports vehicle, which will surely borrow some of the carbon-fiber technology BMW has invested in its fresh i3 electric vehicle.
