Rendering of the 2018 Mercedes E-Class Coupe
Mercedes is finishing the 2018 E-Class Coupe. OmniAuto has created a rendering of the vehicle.
The car is rather appealing. It reminds of the C-Class Coupe and features a cool front fascia and a single bar enclosure, large air inlets and sweptback headlamps. Its sporty design goes further back. There is sensuous bodywork, a rakish windscreen and muscular side skirts. The car also has a flowing roofline and a dynamic greenhouse.
Earlier spy images have revealed that the interior should take inspiration from the E-Class Sedan. However, there will be lots of minor changes. Expect to see new air vents along with a restyled centre stack eschewing an analogue clock.
Engine options will be carried over from the sedan. This way, there will be a 3.0-litre biturbo six-cylinder generating 396 hp and torque of 384 pound-feet and a 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 producing 241 hp. A high-performance E63 offering will produce 571 hp and torque of 621 lb-ft.
The automaker did not reveal much about the launch. According to some reports, it will be presented at the next year’s Motor Show held in Geneva.
