Paparazzi see Mercedes C-Class 2022 crossover for the first time
The new generation of Mercedes-Benz C-Class has seen the world this year in sedan and station wagon bodies.
Now the German company is testing a cross-unit All-Terrain.
The prototype of the car is covered with thick camouflage. The novelty differs from the standard station wagon by increased ground clearance, redesigned bumper, and wheel disks. Plastic cladding on wheel arches, sills, and bumpers, which provides additional body protection and a more muscular appearance, is still visible through the masking.
The reconfigured suspension further improves off-road ride quality, and the increased ground clearance allows for more off-road capability.
Most likely, 4-cylinder engines with mild hybrid technology and 9G-Tronic automatic transmission will appear in the new sedan and wagon.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain will compete with Audi A4 Allroad and Volvo V60 Cross Country. Officially the model will be available in the second half of 2022. After it, the new C-Class Convertible and AMG will appear.
