More Mercedes Cars to be Built in America
Manufacturing capacity will be considerably boosted by Mercedes-Benz stateside.
Information has come from the parent Daimler. It was vaguely promised that Alabama-based factory will further on be more loaded with Mercedes assembly due to range extension to incorporate C-Class and large vehicles. Interestingly, BMW will also increase its American presence manifested by 2-year manufacturing plans of up to 450,000-car output.
It is known that Alabama site already deals with C-Class. However, press representative of Daimler is reluctant about giving details of further increase. Previous output of Mercedes assembly in the USA totalled 185,000 units annually. Without disclosing accurate figures, the brand still insists that the boost will be considerable, especially for SUVs.
M-Class and GL-Class are in the focus of Alabama site now. SUV Coupe also has high chances to end up in construction there.
