Mercedes-Benz Wants to Have Its Own Brand of EVs
The parent of Mercedes-Benz, Smart and other car and truck producers, Daimler AG, wants to develop a new fully-electric brand name. All these is because the coming-soonMercedes EVs.
The automaker’s marketing and sales chief in Great Britain stated that Mercedes could create an eco-friendly sub-brand to compete the i EV division at BMW.
According to Handelsblatt, the EV brand’s launch will happen this September in Paris. The automaker is going yo present a SUV offering that was originated on the current GLC version.
The GLC electric crossover SUV is only the beginning. The producer wants to introduce 4 battery EVs until 2020. All of them will feature a driving range of 325 miles.
The automaker from Germany has never manufactured an EV from scratch.
