Future of Mercedes GLK AMG
As the next year is getting closer, both Mercedes-Benz and its high-performance division mull over more potent engines.
AMG GT is surely going to be assembled with eight-cylinder propulsion with the displacement of 4.0 litres, but its less sporty counterparts might also get a piece of the cake. Twin-turbo will be a level-up from naturally aspired, yet larger variant. However, the last generation twin-turbo will also be rotated. There is a potential for this powerplant to be used in the upcoming AMG models, such as S63 and ML63.
Displacement of Mercedes-Benz’s engines is being cut down due to the worldwide trends, which also touch upon other automakers. For instance, in the similar way Audi is to part with the twin-turbo for eight cylinders. Next GLK was caught by spy cameras back in 2013, yet close disguise did not allow to see much. Its premiere is planned for late 2014.
