AMG Wants to Increase Sales Twice in the Next Three Years
The subbrand Mercedes-AMG has a wish to double the sales of their production in three years with the help of diversifying the portfolio with cheaper offerings.
Since January 2015, Daimler’s performance company will disclose the first AMG sportive offerings which were created to fill the gap in price between the Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Benz. After that more offerings will be developed. Now the AMG range spreads from the CLA45 AMG with the price of $48,375 up to the innovated AMG GT which will be priced accordingly to the 911 Turbo from Porsche after its debut in 2015. Looking at the variety of the company’s current portfolio, the automaker expects to sell more than 40,000 vehicles in 2014.
Tobias Moers, the director of AMG stated that their aim is to enhance the sales more than twice in the next three years, referring to the number of 32,000 cars which were sold by the company sold in 2013.
The AMG sportive variants will have enhanced powertrain output and regular 4Matic four-wheel drive together with chassis and braking system parts like in fully fledged AMG goods.
As to the C-Class, the variant will gain a name the C450 and will obtain a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged powertrain adjusted to output more horsepower than the C400.
