2017 GLS from Mercedes will be introduced in LA
Mercedes has introduced the 2017 GLS at the Auto Show in LA.
The GLS is a facelifted and renamed variant of the GL. It can be characterized with a new front fascia having redesigned headlamps and a revised grille. Besides, the crossover received a new rear bumper and upgraded taillights.
Customers, who want to obtain a more aggressive outlook of the car, have a possibility to order an optional Sport pack on the GLS550. It has got outstanding bumpers, 21-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and running boards.
As to the cabin, it was mostly carried over. However, the designers placed a free-standing COMAND Online infotainment set-up. It features an 8-inch display. Besides, there is a new three-spoke steering. The offering can boast a modified centre console having an innovated touchpad controller. It benefits from revised trim too.
Clients can order an AMG Line interior pack. It adds a sports helm, stainless steel pedals with rubber studs and nappa leather sports seats. There are innovated instrument dials having a graduated checkered flag motif.
American market will receive a whole bunch of different motors. There will be three twin-turbo options: a 3.0-litre six-cylinder producing 362 hp and torque of 369 lb-ft, a 4.7-litre eight-cylinder generating 449 hp and torque of 516 lb-ft, a 5.5-litre eight-cylinder providing 577 hp and torque of 561 lb-ft. Besides, a 3.0-litre turbodiesel six-cylinder unit with 255 hp and torque of 455 lb-ft will be available.
The 2017 GLS from Mercedes will be available to order in December. The first deliveries in the United States are expected for March.
