2016 C-Class Convertible from Mercedes Caught in the Snow
The forthcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class convertible has been seen while undergoing cold weather testing.
The C-Class convertible is expected to be presented sometime later in 2015 as a 2016 offering. The vehicle will probably have the same powertrains as its sedan counterpart having similar options and design. That indicates that the new C-Class offering will be regular with a 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 powertrain generating 241 hp and torque of 273 lb-ft. It will be possible to obtain a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine producing 329 hp and torque of 354 lb-ft.
The C-Class drop-top will be introduced after the coupe offering bows at the 2015 Motor Show in Frankfurt this September. The C-Class convertible is built on the German company’s MRA (Modular Rear Architecture) platform. It probably will be the lightest in its class because of its high-strength steel and aluminium compounds.
