McLaren P1 Production Launches
Production of McLaren’s P1 plug-in hybrid ultra-car is approaching.
There will only be 374 incarnations of the F1 successor constructed and the British sports vehicle company expects most of those to be customized through the McLaren Special Operations unit.
Output is generated from a massaged variant of the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 enhancing the MP4 12C that, in this case, provides 726 hp, which is supplemented by and additional 176 hp from the hybrid system.
McLaren placed a viewing suite on is production line so clients can watch their P1 being constructed. A report in early May suggested the vehicle was already around 75 % sold with a automaker representative saying there were already many more hand raisers than remaining models.
Before personal customization, the vehicle costs around $1.4 million and any of the remaining available vehicles from earlier this year were kept for Europe.
