A More Potent 650S from McLaren will be shown in Geneva and it could be the 675 LT
McLaren has stated that a rumour about a more potent version of the 650S Coupe is true.
The new McLaren’s variant of the supercar will debut at the Motor Show in Geneva in March. It is described as a track-focused and more powerful vehicle. The car is expected to pay homage to the F1 GTR “Long Tail” of 1997. Judging from the official teaser, it becomes clear where this presumption came from. A camouflaged prototype with a longer back end is pictured on the teaser.
The vehicle visually stands out thankfully to the new side air intakes placed low. At the same time the rumoured “675 LT” means that a 3.8-litre eight-cylinder twin-turbo powertrain will generate 675 hp (or 496 kW). Not including the extra punch, the more attractive offering is expected to lose 100 kg (or 220 lbs). It is thought that production will be capped at 250 items.
An only-track version may be launched later in 2015 as a more powerful variant of the 650S Sprint.
