Minor Updates for 2016 Mazda CX-5
This model was presented more than a year ago. Therefore, the mid-year upgrades are minor. They aim at providing clients with better value and streamlining the trim level structure of the crossover.
All 2016.5 CX-5 offerings will receive additory regular equipment along with a rear-view camera on the units with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The mid-level CX-5 touring will get GPS navigation and heated seats. Meanwhile, the Grand Touring placed at the top of the range will benefit from regular navigation set-up.
These changes will save customer’s wallets since the new regular equipment that earlier was possible to obtain only in exclusive packs will be priced at $1,625.
There will be a 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G V4 unit available. This engine is able to generate 155 hp (or 115 kW) and torque of 150 lb-ft (or 203 Nm). Luxury versions will receive power from a 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G V4 unit with 184 hp (or 137 kW) and torque of 185 lb-ft (or 250 Nm). A 6-speed manual gearbox comes regular on the entry-level version. Four-wheel drive will still be optional.
The 2016.5 CX-5 from Mazda will be marketed in January. Prices in the U.S. start at $21,795 and jump up to $29,870.
