Mazda B-Series Pickup Faces Takata Airbag Recall
The B-Series pickup from Mazda comes together with the cars that have suffered from the large Takata recalls connected with the airbags.
The company is going to call back all 2004-2006 B-Series vehicles featuring Takata frontal airbag inflators on the driver’s side. The total of 19,000 cars falls under the recall in America, Saipan and Puerto Rico. The Japanese producer informs that there have been no reports indicating injuries or accidents connected with the recall.
The automaker has already called back the 2007-2009 B-Series trucks featuring Takata passenger frontal airbag inflators situated on the passenger’s side.
416,475 cars with Takata frontal airbag inflators on the passenger’s side and 442,266 cars with Takata frontal airbag inflators situated on the driver’s side were recalled by the automaker. There are the 2004-2008 RX-8, 2003-2008 Mazda6, 2004 MPV and 2004-2006 B-Series.
The producer will change the driver’s side inflator on the affected cars. The owners will be notified right away after dealers receive the needed replacement parts.
