Issue With Parking Brake In Mazda3 And Mazda6
Almost 228,000 cars in America fell under the recall.
The automaker informs that the recall happened because of the parking brake possibility not fully releasing or failing to hold the vehicles. This increases the possibility of a crash. There are the 2014-2015 Mazda6 and the 2014-2016 Mazda3 among the affected units. Water is getting into the brake calliper and this can cause a shaft corroding and binding. In the result, the parking brake can get stuck in the on mode or fail to fully engage. The vehicles can roll unexpectedly if they are parked on a slope.
To fix the problem, the automaker is going to inspect the rear brakes. If the shafts fell under corrosion, then the callipers will be replaced. In case the shafts are no corroded, then a boot will be changed to keep the water out.
