2014 Mazda3 Aiming 500,000 Worldwide Deliveries per Year
The newest iteration of the well-known Mazda3 compact vehicle has been just released, and the company’s CEO has already set his sights on selling 500,000 models per year globally.
A year ago, the Mazda3 accounted for around 30% of Mazda’s overall car sales, which totaled 1.25 million models. But this year, Mazda is banking on its refreshed compact vehicle to push sales even higher. ”We need to achieve this goal as we try to hit our annual car sales of 1.7 million models set in our mid-term plan,” managing executive officer Masahiro Moro informed Carsbase.
In 2012, the Japanese company sold around 162,000 Mazda3 compacts in Canada and the US, which represents 40% of all 2012 Mazda3 deliveries. If Mazda’s sales prediction of 1.7 million total models is accurate, than the all-new 3 is poised to sell around 510,000 models assuming it keeps its 30% share of the company’s overall sales.
The fresh Mazda3 went on sale in the USA this fall and will reach Europe this month while Japan will have to wait until November.
