Recall of Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte: Unintended Acceleration
The Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte offerings are recalled for some unintended acceleration problems.
The Italian producer states that 28,335 items fall under the recall. The sedans are dangerous as the floor mat from the driver’s side can become dislodged. That will make it stuck in the accelerator. In case the floor mat moves and happens to be trapped between the carpet and accelerator, the car will ride n high speeds. Crashes, serious injuries or deaths are possible then.
The cars under consideration were produced on February 1 three years ago and November 30 last year. The company will inform the owners of the affected cars and dealerships will change the floor mat on the driver’s side for free. The gas pedal may also be replaced. The recall starts on April 29.
