Halt of Maserati's Production in November
Maserati has announced its intention to stop production during the first week of the next month.
Owned by FCA, the company has some hard times. It has revealed that the demand is decreasing. Due to this, the production will be halt for a week in November. 2,000 workers will not do their work during the week because of this. The company’s plan is to level the quantity of orders with the production numbers.
Last month production was stopped because of the same issue. The Quattroporte and Ghibli are high-performance sedans. Their deliveries in the 2nd quarter of this year dropped down by 13%. This caused a 30% drop in business profit to €43 million.
Maserati is going to change the assembly range during the November holidays. In such a way it will prepare the 2016 Levante based on the Ghibly. The vehicle is officially scheduled to be presented in March. The presentation will take place in Geneva, at the Motor Show. This crossover will play an important role in the company’s future. It also involves a production variant of the Alfieri. The last one is said to be sold in both cabrio and coupe designs together with the latest coupe-only GranTurismo.
