New Information about Lotus 3-Eleven: Track and Road Variants
New information about the Lotus 3-Eleven is appearing. The vehicle is expected to come out in the next year.
The automaker has been developing a successor for the 2-Eleven for quite a long period of time. It is evident, that the offering will be available both as a regular and a track-oriented car. Customers will have a possibility to obtain a road-legal variant for more money. The track model will probably cost near £70,000 ($109,000 or €97,500). If to believe rumours, it will be able to lap the Nürburgring in almost 7 minutes.
The track variant will weigh not more than 1,763 lbs (or 800 kg). It will benefit from an abbreviated windscreen, built-in roll cage and an aerodynamic body on the outside. As to the inside, the car will have composite seats and simple controls. Extruded aluminium monocoque chassis originated from the Exige S and an adaptation of the suspension will be used by the model.
The two-seater Lotus 3-Eleven is expected to have the same 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine, as in Toyota. According to the reports, the engine will output upgraded 420 hp (or 308 KW). These power characteristics should be enough for a 0-60 mph (or 0-96 km/h) run in almost 3 seconds. The vehicle’s top speed is 180 mph (or 290 km/h).
