Lotus Evora to Make US Comeback in 2016
The Evora will be extracted from market in the U.S. for 2015, though Lotus will turn the model back on the market in 2016.
Soon Lotus will proceed its car sales in U.S. Though, the model will be legal just for track usage. The brake was conditioned by the slight Evora’s disagreement with crash standards in the U.S.
Automobile states that the model has been already showed to the car dealers. The model will be able to handle the IIHS’ overlap crash test which was implemented not long ago. The test appeared to be problematic for vehicles. The Exige and Elise are not going to be innovated for selling in the U.S.
The Evora is powered by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine producing 276 hp. With the supercharger it can produce 345 hp.
Last week the company’s president who was appointed not long ago stated that the producer is going to lay off 27% of its workers in order to make Lotus a competitive business again. The carmaker is going to concentrate on producing better vehicles in the nearest future offering new models of the nameplates. The brand is accounting on a portfolio which can foresee a crossover and sedan.
