Legal War over between Lotus and Its Former CEO
The issue is finally settled for Lotus which filed a claim against its previous CEO without a court hearing.
Dany Bahar and a company which he once managed have satisfied their mutual claims. The issue started in 2012 after the purchase of the parent Proton brand by a Malaysian manufacturer. Certain actions of Bahar were deemed unwise from the financial point of view, which led to his discharge. Only recently has DRB Hicomm announced that an agreement has been reached, though accurate financial aspects of the question have not been officially disclosed yet.
Known as an employee of Ferrari, Bahar joined the British company in 2009. Notorious are his ambitious line-up extending endeavours with five concepts shipped to Paris show in 2010.
Though having filled the vacancy with former board member Jean-Marc Gale back in 2012, Lotus made its decision public only this May.
Soon the brand will achieve a £100-million allocation from the parent company. The money will help secure increase of sales by four or five times from modest two-year-old 1,043 units.
