Lexus Reveals the Impact LF-CC Concept Made on the 2014 IS 350 F Sport
The refreshed 2014 Lexus IS could just seem like a natural next step, but it was essentially inspired by the LF-CC model which made its premiere at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
The Japanese brand took its LF-CC model and put it in the same row with its 2014 IS sedan for some beauty photos. The shots were made for the Australian International Design Awards, which cooperated with Lexus Australia previous month.
One can clearly notify the significant influences the LF-CC model had on the 2014 IS when we see them both on the same picture. The solid front spindle grille, split-headlight styling and huge low air inlets all carried over to the production vehicle. But the concept still includes futuristic design that actually doesn’t find their way onto production vehicles. The trio of LED headlights for instance along with the sleek mirrors of the model may look trendy, but aren’t very practical.
But the main part of seeing the LF-CC model with the IS 350 F Sport is what we can expect when the IS coupe inevitably makes its premiere. However the Japanese brand hasn’t announced its existence, it’s hard to believe that Lexus won’t construct a formidable competitor to the BMW 4 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe.
