New Land Rover Defender tested in the desert
Land Rover tested the new generation Defender all-terrain vehicle prototypes.
The event took place in Dubai, where cars drove in the desert and on simple roads.
These tests are necessary for a British company to celebrate 65 years of Land Rover cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Previously, prototype tests of the newest Defender practiced in Kenya (Africa), the Rocky Mountains in Colorado (USA) with a height of more than 3,000 meters above sea level and beyond the Arctic Circle. Temperature variation ranged from -40 to +50 degrees Celsius. Land Rover engineers conducted a total of 45,000 individual tests, and the model traveled a total of about 1.2 million km.
The debut of the newest Defender will be in a month in Frankfurt. The start of sales of the model scheduled for 2020.
