Expect the New Land Rover Defender in 2018
The next-gen Land Rover Defender is scheduled to be introduced in 2018. The model will reach the market as a 2019 model year.
The British company wants to finish production of the outgoing offering this January. Now the producer is challenging the reinventing an icon for their new generation. The model under consideration has not been marketed in America since 1997. The next-gen offering will arrive in the form of a pair of 2-door vehicles and a longer-wheelbase 4-door car seating eight passengers. The latest Defender is supposed to take place between the Discovery and Range Rover families in the company’s vehicle range. The Land Rover Defender will be a global car. The automaker plans to sell 100,000 cars per year.
The vehicle’s design is in its early stages. Design of the SUV has not been revealed at all. The design director stated that the car will not remind the previous Defender concepts. The customers will see a modern Defender.
Reports indicate that the next-gen Defender is going to shed weight through the use of aluminium. The producer will focus on the car’s cabin in order to give it more high-end and premium look.
