Production Variant of Lamborghini Urus will be Very Close to Concept
Lamborghini has revealed about its production variant of the Urus. The automaker assures that it will be faithful to the concept.
The producer presented the Urus three years ago. Since that time there have been a lot of reports. All they suggested a chance of seeing a production version. Finally, it will be embodied in three years. The production model will be assembled in Sant’Agata Bolognese. By the way, the automaker is going to build there almost 3,000 vehicles annually and sell the biggest part of them in Russia, America, the UK and China. These markets are considered to be the main for the producer’s third offering.
Autoblog writes that a company representative assured the Urus will remain faithful to the concept. Earlier, Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO, said that it could be the company’s first offering with a turbocharged engine. Moreover, it can be the first one to be equipped with a plug-in hybrid set-up. We remind you that the LM002 was created to tackle off-road routs. On the contrary, the Urus will be fine-tuned for on-road performance.
Winkelmann revealed that it was tricky to get the green light for the innovated crossover since the automaker is still a small producer. Adding a third offering must lean on a rock-solid business case. Now Lamborghini finally has it after debating for almost three years. Building the model will require 500 more employees. The size of the production facilities have to be doubled. Hundreds and hundreds of millions will be invested.
If the Urus proves to be successful, the CEO says that the company could also add a smaller crossover, something like Bentley is considering about Bentayga and Porsche did with its Macan.
