Lamborghini Urus is preparing for an off-road competition program

Where exactly will act "Lambo for every day" - is not yet clear.

The Italian company denies the intention to follow the path of Bentley, which this summer will exhibit its Bentayga crossover for the race at Pikes Peak Hill. At the same time, Lamborghini recognizes that the performance of Bentayga, which, like Urus, is built on the MLB Evo platform, will become a kind of benchmark for "the most powerful and fastest SUV in the world." According to CEO Stefano Domenicali, Lamborghini welcomes the competition, but its sports strategy will be very different from anything other brands do. "We will choose a competition, it is intended only for our class of cars," the top manager said. This can, for example, mean that Urus will have its own monocube.

The world premiere of Lamborghini Urus took place last December. The all-wheel drive full-crossover is equipped with a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 with 650 hp. and 850 Nm, which allows you to score a hundred in 3.6 seconds and accelerate to a maximum of 305 km / h. Urus costs from 15.2 million rubles. The first months of receiving orders showed that the novelty was even more popular than the manufacturer expected.
