Italian Government wants the Urus to be produced by Lamborghini inside the Country
Bloomberg reports that the Italian government wants to convince Lamborghini to develop their Urus SUV at home. Significant incentives are offered.
The automaker has not decided yet if it is going to add a third offering to its range. At the same time the Italian government is trying to have the Volkswagen-owned brand building its cars at home. If the vehicle receives green light, it will be a production variant of the Urus concept. There are rumours that Matteo Renzi’s government is going to pay up to €100 million in tax breaks and other benefits.
The decision about the vehicle will be taken in the end of June. If approved, the producer will start thinking where it will be created. Some earlier reports stated that the Urus could be assembled in Slovakia. Though, this will probably not happen since the Italian government has stated its wish to keep the production inside the country.
