Will a Track-Only Hypercar from Koenigsegg be developed?
The automaker’s CEO revealed that Koenigsegg could be developing an innovated track-only hypercar.
Christian von Koenigsegg, the CEO of the Swedish brand, was answering questions at the company’s site. It was a part of AMA (Ask Me Anything). He wrote that the automaker wants to create an innovated track-only vehicle which will not be based on the one that already exists. That offering was created to be a road vehicle and has an unbelievable track performance. If Koenigsegg builds this special model under consideration, it will have to start from zero.
We found out from the AMA that the CEO and his brand are not going for the supercar market at the moment. They consider it to be a “hornet’s nest.” Christian is sure that his company has an offering for the supercar market, such as vehicles producing between 500 hp and 700 hp. Though, the producer is not going to expose them on the market in the near future.
Another interesting piece of news from the AMA reveals that Koenigsegg is thinking over developing a 4-seater. Though, precise information on this topic was not given. Besides, he told us a lot about the Regera and its powerplant. The CEO is sure that EVs have “turned the corner” for everyday driving.
