The XJ Replacement and Sub-XE Version from Jaguar
Jaguar has shown preliminary details about the changes with the both ends of its range.
The main designer at Jaguar told in his interview with Autocar that the replacement for the XJ is in process. Moreover, he confirmed that the next-gen will produce more members. Though, it will not happen at once as the automaker has some production capacity issues. The extra XJ offering will be launched somewhere in 2018 when JLR will open its new plank built in Slovakia. The full-size sedan will focus on design.
The designer specified that JLR does not have a wish to chase volumes and have the size of Audi or BMW. According to him, a maximum limit of 1 million vehicles sold per year is good. Callum is sure that anything beyond that is able to influence the brand’s prestige. JLR is going to have extra model lines.
According to the designer, his team is talking about a smaller Jaguar all the time. Though, there are no immediate plans for production vehicle.
