Takata Airbag Recall Touches Jaguar Land Rover
Jaguar Land Rover has joined the Takata airbag recall.
This recall deals with the 2007-2011 Land Rover and 2009-2011 Jaguar XF vehicles. It appeared over defective airbags on the passenger side (the front one). As you already, know passengers can be injured because of these problematic airbags.
The producer from Britain is going to make the recall in 4 phases. Some parts are lacking for a full recall. The 1st phase touches, cars that were sold or/and registered in territories with high humidity (such as the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Hawaii, Alabama, Florida, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, California and Texas.
As to other phases, they will happen when the needed parts arrive. It’s obvious that the areas of greater risk (the ones with high humidity and heat) receive priority. All owners are encouraged to visit www.safecar.gov to find out if their cars fall under the considered recall. It was said that the 1st part covers 54,000 to 108,000 cars.
