Infiniti Freezes EV
Infiniti froze bringing an electric vehicle to market.
The automaker presented the LE Concept at the Auto Show in New York in 2012. It was called “a production intent” car then. Its arrival was scheduled for 2014, but the vehicle never showed up. The company’s vice president for the Americas believes that they have to be more pragmatic.
The vehicle’s arrival was frozen so that the automaker could concentrate on other significant models, such as the new Infinity Coupe.
Infinity may also be freezing the LE till the time when the new Nissan Leaf is revealed. The thing is that the LE is build upon it. The regular Leaf is characterized with a range of 84 miles at the time when the next-gen car is going to double that figure. As follows, the LE’s competition with the forthcoming Tesla Model III presupposes the range addition of the updated Leaf’s level.
The new Leaf is expected to arrive in two or three years. Probably, the destiny of the Infinity EV will be known at that time.
