Infiniti EV to Include Induction Charging, Constructed on the Base of Nissan Leaf
Constructed on the base of Nissan Leaf, Infiniti electric vehicle will use induction-based charging, trying to avoid charging cables.
As was informed before, Infiniti EV will include a totally different exterior and interior than the Nissan Leaf as it will attract more high-end, elegant drivers. But part of that elegant engineering, according to Infiniti chief Andy Palmer, is to avoid “connecting cables to a plug socket, pulling them on the ground and on you as you walk.”
The issue with induction charging will be the same to what’s plaguing the electric vehicle market nowadays – the infrastructure. The success of Infiniti’s electric model will depend on induction charging being presented worldwide, making its roll out dependent on what parts of the globe love it.
Helping to develop the concept of induction charging, Infiniti is hasting other brands to promote their open-source based systems, rather than each brand personally investing into its own systems.
