Hyundai begins testing Santa Cruz pickup truck
Hyundai is preparing to start selling the new Santa Cruz pickup truck in 2021.
The car recently began testing in South Korea on public roads.
Photographers spotted the Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup in a heavily camouflaged form, so it's hard to say anything specific about its design yet.
The novelty is based on the compact crossover Hyundai Tucson. It will be the first model in the "urban pickup" segment. It will fit five people. It will combine the efficiency and practicality of a pickup with a crossover's convenience and the smooth ride of a passenger car.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. All characteristics of this power plant are still kept in secret.
The new pickup from Hyundai will debut in 2021. Almost immediately after that its sales will begin.
