Hyundai Unleashes the Elantra N TCR Edition with Striking Upgrades
Hyundai Elantra N TCR Edition
Hyundai has introduced a special edition of the Elantra N, known as the TCR Edition, which boasts eye-catching upgrades. However, while the sports sedan comes equipped with a carbon rear wing for enhanced aerodynamics and adjustable downforce, there are no additional power enhancements to the engine.
The TCR Edition of the Elantra N showcases its unique exterior features, including the 19-inch forged wheels that not only give it a stylish look but also offer a reduction in weight. To further enhance performance, Hyundai has fitted the new wheels with N Performance monoblock brakes, featuring four-piston calipers.
The interior of the Elantra N TCR Edition sees limited changes, with highlights such as an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, special badging, and N-specific Performance Blue accents. The cabin also features Hyundai's signature shade of blue on the seatbelts and the steering wheel's 12 o'clock mark.
Market Availability
The Elantra N TCR Edition will first be available in South Korea starting from December. Global markets will receive this performance sedan in 2025, with the possibility of a higher price tag compared to the standard Elantra N.
Looking ahead, Hyundai has plans to release another generation of the Elantra N with a gasoline engine, featuring an upgraded 2.5-liter mill for increased power output. However, it remains uncertain whether the six-speed manual transmission will be offered in addition to the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Fate of the i30 N
While the Elantra N continues to thrive, the future doesn't appear as promising for its hot hatch sibling, the i30 N, which is unlikely to receive a next-generation model due to stricter emissions regulations in Europe.
