Hyundai Kona EV can be very dangerous
Hyundai begins repair work on the Kona EV, recalling the model.
The recall campaign's reason was problems with batteries from LG Chem, which lend themselves to fire.
The service campaign includes 25,564 Kona EVs launched on the market from September 2017 to March 2020. Electric vehicles can have a short circuit in the battery, which increases the risk of fire. Now 13 cases of model fires are recorded. Cases have occurred in Canada and Australia.
Hyundai representatives promised to check each recalled car more thoroughly, and, if necessary, change the battery and update the software. Additionally, the South Korean company will investigate to find problems.
