Production of Honda Insight Line Is Probable to Be Cut in the Nearest Future
Reducing sales figures and the success of other carmakers may lead to phasing out of Honda Insight.
4,384 cars of this line only were sold in America by November 2013, which is far less than sales performance observed by the month of its launch – November 2010 – when 19,325 units were sold. The situation looks even more desperate comparatively to Toyota Prius. Although in higher price sector, the sales of the latter totaled 135,291 during the same period of 2013. Honda Insight was also outperformed by a smaller and less expensive Prius c in terms of sales numbers, totaling 39,169 cars sold in 2013 so far.
There a rumors that the launch of new Honda Insight in 2015 is not so actively prepared as it should be, especially concerning advertising, which may lead to a conclusion that this model will be seriously redesigned or leave the product line altogether. Apart from that, Insight is facing the inner competition of Civic Hybrid with its ingenious design and brisk sales. Even the prospects of Fit sedan by Honda look better.
Carmaker’s executives reasonably do not provide any comments about the gossips and forecasts, but the fact remains: sales performance of Honda Insight in 2013 don’t look promising at all.
