Honda Civic Wagon Racing Model Uncovered for BTCC
Honda will take part in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) next season using Civic, however, this time the version of the car will be a wagon.
Previous year, the Honda Yuasa Racing team conquered both the teams’ and manufacturers’ titles for the 4th year in the row while racers Matt Neal and Gordon “Flash” Shedden barely missed out on the drivers’ title. The catchy, brand-new Honda Civic Tourer will look towards carrying on the supremacy on the racetrack for Honda.
Tests on the new race vehicles will start in January and the debut race will be held at Brands Hatch for the 1st round of the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Contest on March 29.
“We believe that the vehicle can carry on the long-standing success of the Civic in the contest and very much looking forward to putting it through its paces,” informed Matt Neal. “However, we’re racing a new vehicle; the inherent advantages of the Civic hatchback from the last two years stay so there’s no reason why this vehicle can’t be a winner straight out of the box! We’ll be examining the vehicle early in the New Year and I can’t wait to see it on the racetrack.”
Honda will be the only constructor racing in BTCC using a wagon model.
