Restrains of Ford F-150 Production Harm Sales
A hit in Ford’s sales happened because of disability of the American producer to manufacture a sufficient quantity of its innovated 2015 F-150 pickup.
The sales fell down nearly by 2% this February while the rest of the market experienced growth in comparison with the last year. This can be because of the innovated Ford-150. The last one also felt a 1% decline in sales in February. It resulted in Toyota’s ability to outsell Ford which was impossible during the last six months.
The innovated model requires two company’s assembly factories to have an involuntary stop in order to retool for an innovated pickup. This also results in lost production of trucks starting from the middle of the last year. Mark LaNeve stated that the company has produced a limited quantity of trucks aimed at the last nine months. The automaker will do everything possible to stock its dealerships by June. The producer is optimistic about the model’s future.
The offering is staying on dealer lots approximately during 18 days. At the same time the Platinum and King Ranch variants are being sold in 12 and 16 days respectively. There are not much inventories at the moment and that is why the automaker has put a restriction on fleet sales.
The automaker’s Dearborn Truck Plant was retooled in 2014. Currently it is the only plant which manufactures the new trucks. The company believes the production will begin at its second factory which is situated in Kansas City, Missouri in March.
