One-Off Mustang Apollo Edition will be Auctioned
The one-off offering whichoriginates on the Mustang GT will be auctioned off on July 23rd. This will happen at this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
The model is black and white from the outside. Its exterior was inspired by Apollo program of NASA. The vehicle features a rear diffuser and a carbon fibber front splitter. It also received LED underbody lights. These lights symbolize atmospheric re-entry. There also are 21-inch Forgiato wheels. They are backed up by 6-piston Brembo brakes. Moreover, the car has got a sport-tuned suspension.
The outstanding design does not finish on the exterior. Inside the cabin you will find black leather sport seats. There are some white accents and red contrast stitching too. The rear seats feature leather cover with patches from different Apollo missions. The up-scale offering boasts special floor mats, unique still plates and a renovated dashboard.
The car is equipped with a 5.0-litre eight-cylinder engine. It boasts a sports exhaust system and a Ford Performance supercharger. All these changes allow the vehicle to produce 627 hp (or 467 kW) and torque of 540 lb-ft (or 731 Nm).
All realized sum from the auction will be sent to EAA youth education programs. The Young Eagles will be among them. This program has given free introductory flights since 1992. More than 1.9 million of young people have tried it.
