Ford's Most Robust Ranger Awaits U.S. Debut: Are You Ready?
Introducing the Ultimate Ranger
After stirring excitement with the Raptor variant a few years back, Ford has once again raised the bar with a more formidable Ranger model. While the Raptor impressed, American enthusiasts crave even more power, leading us to urge Ford to bring the new Australian Ranger Super Duty to the United States.
Enhanced Durability and Protection
This Ranger iteration stands as Ford's most rugged creation to date. It features a reinforced frame, strengthened suspension mounts, and a heavy-duty rear axle tailored for the harshest off-road environments. Additionally, robust underbody armor and steel protective plates safeguard essential mechanical parts.
Built for Extreme Conditions
The truck is equipped with eight-stud wheels secured by thicker bolts to handle increased loads. Its 33-inch off-road tires mirror those on the American Ranger Raptor, complemented by a slight lift in ride height and an extended track, making it as imposing as its performance-oriented counterparts.
Versatile Configurations
The Ranger Super Duty is available in various setups, including Single-Cab Chassis, Super- and Double-Cab Chassis, and the Double-Cab pickup known as the work truck. A standard 34-gallon (130-liter) fuel tank, previously optional on other Australian Rangers, is now included across all models.
Power and Performance
Under the hood lies an upgraded 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 engine. While specific power and torque figures remain unconfirmed, the engine in the standard Australian Ranger delivers 247 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Given the Super Duty's enhanced capabilities, it's likely to offer significantly more power. A hood-mounted snorkel ensures readiness for the most challenging terrains.
Exceptional Towing Capacity
Ford claims this truck can tow up to 9,921 pounds, nearly 2,000 pounds more than the standard Ranger's capacity and surpassing the base F-150 in the U.S., which tows up to 8,200 pounds. Although the exact payload capacity remains undisclosed, the pickup includes an onboard scale displayed on the infotainment screen, providing real-time cargo load information—a handy feature for heavy-duty tasks.
Looking Ahead
The Ranger Super Duty is an impressive beast, embodying toughness and versatility. While Ford Australia has yet to release all specifications, more details are expected before its Australian release in 2026. Once again, we call on Ford to introduce this exceptional truck to the American market.
