Ford Set to Unveil Mustang GTD's Nürburgring Lap Time on December 10
Months of testing at the Nürburgring are finally culminating in Ford's revelation of the Mustang GTD's lap time on December 10. The company's aim was to establish a new record for American production cars, and it seems that they have achieved their goal.
The current record for American production cars at the Nürburgring stands at 7:01:30, held by the Dodge Viper ACR. However, the Mustang GTD is expected to exceed this benchmark, potentially even challenging the fastest front-engined production car record currently held by the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.
With its impressive 815 horsepower and GT3-based chassis, the Mustang GTD boasts a rear-mounted gearbox that contributes to its near 50/50 weight distribution. This, combined with a top speed of 202 mph and a high-performance aerodynamic kit, positions the Mustang GTD as a formidable contender.
All questions will be answered on December 10, when Ford unveils the Mustang GTD's highly anticipated lap time at the Nürburgring.
