Ford Recalls 221K Vehicles because of the Two Issues

Ford will recall and fix almost 221,000 cars because of the problems with seat belts and door handles.

The issues with door handles relate to 204,945 cars and three types of series: the 2010-2013 Lincoln MKS, Taurus and Police Interceptor. The spring controlling the inside door handle can suddenly unseat in these cars. As the result, the door can unlatch if a side-impact crash happens. The cars under the issue will be inspected at the dealerships and door handles will be fixed or replaced.

Problems with seatbelts affect 16,091 Ford Transit Connect vans. The thing is that the fasteners cannot have been tightened in a proper way. This can lead to their loose over some time. The seatbelt fasteners will be replaced or tightened in order to remedy the problem.
