A Hotter Focus RS from Ford
The rumour has it that a hotter variant of Ford Focus RS is being planned.
Autocar reports that the automaker wants to gather a special model of the Focus RS packing a better power-to-rate ration thankfully to the weight loss. The vehicle’s 2.3-litre turbocharged V4 motor will probably be boosted as well.
The carbon fibber-reinforced bodywork, lighter braking set-up and aluminium suspension parts may help to shave the weight off. Weight lost will also be reached by less noise insulation and a stripped out interior. Autocar says that the new Focus RS may be 220 pounds lighter.
There also can be the latest electronically controlled limited slip differential in the front axle. Besides, the vehicle can boast a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The automaker wants to reach the level of German hot hatchbacks, such as the Audi RS3 and the Mercedes-AMG A45. They accelerate 0-62 in 4.3 and 4.2 seconds respectively.
