2017 F-150 Raptor was tested in Desert Conditions
Ford has uploaded photos of the latest 2017 F-150 Raptor without camouflage.
Ford has completed 1,000 miles of testing its 2017 Raptor. The testing took place in South-western California. The producer raced the vehicle over a 66-mile course which was created to parallel the Baja 1000. Severe conditions of a desert, such as a typical for it terrain with some sandy washes, silt beds, slow crawls and steep climbs were tested on the new car. The truck proved to lap the course nearly 25% quicker than the current vehicle.
The model under consideration will be equipped with the 3.5-litre EcoBoost six-cylinder engine. It will be able to produce the excess of 411 hp. One of the reports assures that the vehicle will be able to output even 450 hp. The engine will be mated to a ten-speed automatic gear box. An innovated terrain select system will prearrange the vehicle’s characteristics to certain situations on the road.
The 2017 F-150 Raptor practiced toping speeds of 100 mph and faced a tabletop jump. The vehicle was sent two feet up at the end of the laps. A mix of 2015 and 2017 Raptor details allowed creating the early build prototypes.
The new Raptor will be out on the markets in the autumn of the next year.
