Will Fiat green-light the 500X Abarth with 200 HP?
According to the latest report, Fiat is ready to approve the Avarth-prepared 500X.
At the end of spring there was a footage showing a possible boost in performance for 500X. It looks like a hotter variant of the small crossover is really at play. It is indeed a high priority for the automaker’s Abarth performance branch. The model has not received green light for production yet. Though, close to the Italian brand sources assure that it will take place in the expanded Abarth range. By the way, the range will accept a hot facelifted 500 and a gutty Fiat 124 Spider.
If the 500X by Abarth is approved, it will be equipped with a 1.75-litre V4 engine which came from the Alfa Romeo 4C. However, it will probably be detuned to 200 hp (or 149 kW). A more aggressive body will also characterize the car. It will gain larger wheels, enlarged brakes, wider fenders and dual exhaust set-up.
Probably, we will have to wait some time until the 500X by Abarth reaches production since the spicier 124 Spider variant is going to be presented first.
