Europe will see Fiat's Compact Sedan with the Name Tipo
Fiat has shared that its latest compact sedan will have the Tipo moniker in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The production version was previewed by a concept at the Motor Show in Istanbul this May. It will reach the market this December. Firstly it will appear in Italy. The EMEA region will also see the offering sometime after this. All these countries will know the model for its Tipo moniker except for Turkey. The vehicle will be called the Egea in this country.
The considered sedan will come with high performing, economical and reliable power equipment. Besides, it will benefit from two Multijet II turbo diesel and two petrol engines. They will be mated to automatic or manual gearbox. The power numbers stand at 95-120 hp (or 70-88 kW).
Back in 1988-1995 the Fiat Tipo was a tiny family hatch. It received the European Car of the Year award. This happened in 1989. Nine different engine options were possible to obtain. The power numbers varied from 50 to148 hp (or from 43 to 109 kW).
