Ferrari 458 Speciale turned into an armored car
The firm AddArmor from the USA has created an armored version of the supercar Ferrari 458 Speciale.
Authors of the project say that the novelty left the same dynamics, becoming one of the fastest in the world among bulletproof cars.
Specialists from AddArmor have implemented the car polycarbonate panels' design, which is much stronger than standard steel armor, but 60% lighter than them. The total weight of the armor reaches more than 70 kg, corresponding to the classic European B4.
The company said the price of the shown prototype is $625,000. The modification package put the price at $28,000. The engine in the Ferrari 458 Speciale is a 4.5-liter V8 with 605 hp. The first 100 km per hour are gained in 3 seconds. The maximum speed of the Ferrari 458 Speciale is 330 km/h.
