Wait for more Dodge Hellcat engines in 2016
There will be more Dodge Hellcat engines for the next year.
The American producer has announced about its increasing manufacturing of the Hellcat engines for the next year. The company wants to meet an increasing demand from their customers for the high-performance powertrains. The automaker did not say how many engines it will produce. Though, we know that it has already produced 4,000 vehicles this year at its Saltillo plant situated in Mexico.
Tim Kuniskis, the chief of the SRT and Dodge brands says that Dodge has not been taking any Hellcat orders for months. This was done in order the automaker could meet the existing demand and then launch the 2016s. The producer has increased its manufacturing twice above the initial expectations since the Charger and Challenger Hellcat offerings saw the world. The automaker is still able to fulfil existing orders.
The Challenger Hellcat was launched for sale in America in September of 2014 before the Charger model that was presented in three months. The boss says that Dodge cannot even estimate the demand for the Charger Hellcat as it is still in works with the Challenger backlog. This statement about Dodge increasing production makes us believe that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will embody with Hellcat power.
One thing that prevents from the rapid production of the Hellcat engines does not concern the availability of details, but the testing. Each engine undergoes testing on a dyno for 42 minutes before it is mounted into a car.
