Dodge Canceled 284K Chargers For Surprising Airbag Deployment
After Ram asked for return about two million trucks for abrupt airbag deployment, Dodge has discovered an analogous issue with in its Charger sedans and is asking a voluntary recall.
The problem is identified on Dodge Chargers from 2011 to 2014, and is about the side airbag sensor. As Dodge claims, the sensors can be too sensitive. This can result in causing the side airbag when the door has been hit or slammed with great force. Three injuries were caused by this problem, and what is good, no accidents!
The company is going to fix control modules to prevent abrupt deployment of the air bags and safety belt pretensioners.
We don’t know the exact time when this recall will start, so temporary FCA US advises that drivers of these cars exercise caution when close their doors.”
